Doane emerged as one of the best Sophomore runners in the state this year, as he took over the number one spot for Cape Elizabeth this year. Whenever the Capers needed a good race from him, he always came through in the clutch. His breakout race of the season came at the WMC Championships at St. Joe's college where he placed sixth overall running a time of 17:51.92. Doane saved his best for the postseason as he really emerged as one the top Class B runners in the state. At the Class B Western Maine Regional's Doane place sixth running a time of 17:31.82. The following week at the state meet, Doane placed 8th in Class B running a time of 17:28.46. Look for Doane to contend for a top five finish in Class B next fall.
