1. Kialeigh Marston and Mary Szatkowski

This is Szatkowski's second consecutive time winning the Summer and Marissa Award after a spectacular year on the trails. Marston and Szatkowski were the two vital components in leading Bonny Eagle towards their second straight Class A title. At the state meet, Marston was the individual victor running a time of 19:34.16 with Szatkowski twenty seconds back placing fourth in a time of 19:54.44. This tandem became the most feared duo in the SMAA this fall, and got even stronger when the post season rolled around. At the Western Regional Championships, the duo placed first and second with Marston coming out on top. They had the second and third fastest times of all classes that day. With Szatkowski graduating next spring, it will be Marston's time to shine as she looks to defend her Class A title.

And the winner is…….

 

Tessa Cassidy Brunswick

 

Tessa Cassidy had an outstanding freshmen campaign as we saw her mix it up with the top girls in Class A. She showed her true form at the Festival of Champions placing second in the freshmen race running a time of 19:54.40. Her time was the 18^th fastest of the day. Her finest race of the season came at Eastern Regional Championships where she placed second to Erzsebet Nagy running a time of 20:36.31. She followed up her performance with a ninth place showing at the state meet running a time of 19:40.51. Cassidy placed 84^th at the New England Championships on Saturday running a time of 20:53.56. Look for Cassidy to only improve from here, and challenge for the Class A title next fall.
