Totally Awesome Movies of the 90's (in my opinion)

15. The Parent Trap 1998

Definitely my favorite Lindsay Lohan movie of all time. She was by far a better actor when she was younger. This movie had great emotional content. Much of it was involved with dennis Quaid, which is great, because he is one of my faves. This is another movie where the nanny or butler plays a great role. Jessie is awesome. I don't know why Annie would deny that breakfast that she made. Martin is a very underrated character. He is probably my favorite.

Favorite Character: Martin

Least Favorite Character: Meredith Blake

Favorite Line: "Let me see... I know how to fence and you don't... Or I have class and you don't. Take your pick."- Annie

14. Richie Rich 1994

One of three films that Macaulay Culkin is in on this list. This is probably my 3rd favorite Culkin film of all time behind Home Alone and Home Alone 2. I really did enjoy this movie. Although the emotional content is absolutely pathetic. I will admit I was a little scared when Regina and Richard were in the plane with the bomb. Of all the charactera, I would have to say that Cadbury is my favorite. He is very witty, and he looks great in a bandana. I give this one 2 thumbs up.

Favorite Character: Cadbury

Least Favorite Character: Lawrence Van Dough

Favorite Line: Man, you cut the cheese! Tony

: Whoever smelt it dealt it. Omar: Well, whoever denied it supplied it

13. The 6th Man 1997

As much as I love this movie, it has one of the saddest endings of all time, which is why I ranked this so low. This is a great family film. This one really grabbed my attention because it's about college basketball. Antione and Kenny Tyler are brothers who are on the Washington U's basketball team. Antione dies of a heart attack after a dunk in the middle of a game. He then turns into a ghost and helps Kenny and the Huskies reach the Final Four. This is a very funny, yet sad, movie. Very good acting, and probably too much emotional content.

Favorite Character: Antione Tyler

Least Favorite Character: Dick Vitale

Favorite Line: "A and K all the way N.C. 2 A babay"- Antione and Kenny

12. White Men Can't Jump 1992

This ranks in my top 10 of best basketball movies of all time. Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson make a great dynamic duo not just on the courts. The thing that I like best about this movie is Wesley's outfits. They are truly great. This one got to me because it is about my favorite sport, and I love black people. Kadeem Hardison is also in the cast, which makes him one of the few actors who make it twice on this list (The 6th Man). This is definitely a good one to watch.

Favorite Character: Sidney Deane

Least Favorite Character: Gloria

Favorite Line: "You see Billy it's like this, you either smoke or you get smoked. And you got smoked."- Sidney Deane

11. Little Big League 1994

I love this movie. Mostly because Billy Heywood (Luke Edwards) becomes the head coach of the Twins. While watching this, I like to put myself in his situation, and see what I could do better. This movie sends a good message. It's saying that former players should never coach major league teams because they tend to look at things the wrong way. It was a genius move to put Billy as the head coach because he knew way more about the game than anybody else (besides his grandfather), and their former head coach was a complete douche bag. I bet the Twins right now who rather have Billy Heywood rather than Ron Gardenhire. Overall, a great movie, with great baseball action.

Favorite Character: Billy Heywood

Least Favorite Character: Mike McGrevey

Favorite Line: "If I owned the Twins, I wouldn't even show up here. I'd just hire a bunch of scientists to do my homework. I mean, if you're rich you don't have to be smart. That's the whole beauty of this country"- Joey

10. Rookie of the Year 1994

This one of the four baseball movies I have in this list. The Rookie of the Year is a movie that everybody can enjoy. A young Thomas Ian Nicholas plays Henry Rowengartner, the kid who can throw 103 mph. Gary Busey basically plays himself, except he is an athlete in this movie ( very surprising ). Daniel Stern made a big impact on me in this movie. He told me that I could use hot ice to put on my shoulder after a game because it is the "best of both worlds". Overall a very good movie that has great baseball action, good acting, and solid emotional content

Favorite Character: Henry Rowengartner

Least Favorite Character: Jack Bradfield

Favorite Line: "Did he just say 'funky buttloving?' "- George

9. D2 Mighty Ducks 1994

In the second installment, hot shot Gordon Bombay takes the Ducks (who have some new faces) to the Junior GoodWill Games in Cali. I have to say this is probably my least favorite Duck movie although there are some great emotional moments, and parts that puts chills down my spine like when Adam Banks makes the final shot in the shoot out . Very epic

Favorite Character: Russ Tyler

Least Favorite Character: Connie Moreau

Favorite Line: "Hey Goldberg. I bet if that puck was a cheeseburger you'd stop it. HAHAHA!"

8. The Mighty Ducks 1992

Ah. The orginal. You really can't go wrong with this one. This has all of the makings of a classic. Gordon Bombay (Estevez) gets caught drinking and driving and is forced to do community service and coach a pee wee hockey team. He then meets Charlie and the Ducks (at the time they were District 5). Gordon turns the team around, and brings them to the championship game against his old coach (who is a dick), and the Hawks. The Ducks of course win (they wouldn't lose in a championship game in a movie would they?). Charlie nets the game winning goal and Bombay tries out for thr pros at the end. Solid acting, good emotinal content, and good action.

Favorite Charcter: Gordon Bombay

Least Favorite Character: Jack Riley

Favorite Line: "To think, I wasted all those years worrying about what you thought. You're going down Reilly"- Gordon Bombay

7. Newsies 1992

If you think that the Dark Knight was Christain Bale's best movie, then you are clearly wrong. This is without a doubt his best movie. I realize the way he talks is completely irritating, but his dance moves make me totally forget about it. He is spectacular in this. He plays the ambitious Jack Kelly who looking for a way to get to Sante Fe (rhyme!) without going back to the refuge where all of the other Newsies stay. The songs are catchy (my favorite is "King of New York")the acting is very good and Kenny Ortegas directing was a thing of beauty. Forget the High School musical movies. This is the best film he has ever directed.

Favorite Character: Jack Kelly

Least Favorite Character: Joseph Pulitzer

Favorite Line: One thing's for sure, if we don't sell papes, then nobody sells papes. Nobody comes through those gates until they put the price back to where it was.

6. The Sandlot 1994

One of the best baseball movies of all time in my opinion. Clearly not as good as Angels in the Outfield. The thing that I really liked about this movie is that two actors from D2: Mighty Ducks have big roles in this film. Mike Vitar (who played Luis Mendoza in D2) stars as Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez and Brandon Quintin Adams (who plays Jesse Hall in D1 and D2) plays the stud pitcher, Kenny DeNunez. The chase scene between The Beast and benny is one of my favorite scenes in any movie. This film has a great cast which included Denis Leary and James Earl Jones.

Favorite Character: Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez

Least Favorite Character: Yeah Yeah

Favorite Line: "Remember kid, there's heroes and there's legends. Heroes get remembered but legends never die, follow your heart kid, and you'll never go wrong."- Babe Ruth

5. D3: Mighty Ducks 1996

D3 is my favorite out of the trilogy. Its combination of comedy, drama, sports, and overall acting puts his one above the previous two. Charlie Conway gets a little to cocky in this movie, which kind of annoys me, but he makes up for it, with his emotional speech (starts around 2:20) with Gordon. Coach O'rion appears to be a huge dick in the beginning by not giving Charlie the captain position even though he doesn't give it to anybody else. Although he does give an amazing speech about defense in this one. The emotional content is absolutely spectacular although I did cry when Hans died. That was probably the saddest part of this amazing trilogy.

Favorite Character: Gordon Bombay

Least Favorite Character: Connie Moreau

Favorite Line: "I told him that you were the heart of the team and that you would learn something from eachother. I told him that you that you were the real Minnesota Miracle Man"- Gordon Bombay

4. Rudy 1993

A flat out wonderful movie. This is probably my favorite Sean Astin movie ahead of The Goonies. His character, Rudy, is awesome I love his determination in this. The music in this movie is unbelievable. As a matter of fact, the song that they use during Rudy's epic tryout scene is used in the official Angels in the Outfield trailer. Arguably one of the best football, if not sports, movies of all time.

Favorite Character: Rudy

Least Favorite Character:

Favorite Quote: "You're 5 foot nothin', 100 and nothin', and you have barely a speck of athletic ability. And you hung in there with the best college football players in the land for 2 years. And you're gonna walk outta here with a degree from the University of Notre Dame. In this life, you don't have to prove nothin' to nobody but yourself. And after what you've gone through, if you haven't done that by now, it ain't gonna never happen. Now go on back."- Fortune

3. Home Alone 1990

Can't go wrong with the original. Probably one of the best movies of all time. Macaulay Culkin is a genius, Daniel Stern is Hilarious, and Joe Pesci is phenomenal. Other than the "big three" my other favorite characters are Buzz, despite his incredibly ugly girlfriend, and Uncle Frank. They, both, bring most of the comedy to the table in this one. People don't realize how inappropriate this movie is, and I think that makes it even funnier because it is supposed to be a kids movie.

Favorite Character: Kevin

Least Favorite Character: Police Officer who tries to get kevin

Favorite Quote: "I took a shower washing every body part with actual soap; including all my major crevices; including in between my toes and in my belly button which I never did before but sort of enjoyed. I washed my hair with adult formula shampoo and used cream rinse for that just-washed shine. I can't seem to find my toothbrush, so I'll pick one up when I go out today. Other than that, I'm in good shape."- Kevin

2. Angels in the Outfield 1994

In my opinion Angels in the Outfield is one of the best movies of our time. It has it all. Comedy, Drama, and baseball. What more could you ask for? This film also has an all star cast in Danny Glover, Christopher Lloyd, Tony Danza, a young Joseph Gordon Levitt, Adrien Brody, and Matthew McConaughey. Gordon Levitt plays a very convincing character in this movie, and if you haven't seen the trailer for this, then you are missing out. It will put chills down your spine.

Favorite Character: Roger

Least Favorite Character: Rogers dad

Favorite Line: "I'd also like to say something. I don't know if they are any Angels here other than the twenty-five of us in uniform. But I know there is one thing I wont do: I wont play for anybody but George Knox. I believe in him"- Mel Clark

1. Home Alone 2 1992

Arguably the best sequel ever made. This one definitely tops the original. Macaulay Calkin continues to impress. This movie has a very strong supporting cast consisting of Daniel Stern, Joe Pesci, Rob Schneider, and Culkins younger brother Kieran Culkin who plays Fuller. I truly believe that Buzz put this movie over the edge. His great one liners, and presence make this a must see. Besides Kevin, my favorite character is probably Uncle Frank. He is unreal in the shower scene (starts at 2:35) when Kevin tries to get his tie from the bathroom.

Favorite Character: Uncle Frank

Least Favorite: The guy who only speaks french on the plane

Favorite line: "Hey, hey, easy on the fluids pal. The rubber sheets are packed"- Uncle Frank
