Boys XC Power Rankings Week 2




TEAM


1. Scarborough
Previous: 1
Last Meet: at Massabesic
Place: 1st
Scarborough cruised to an easy victory at Massabesic behind Nick Morris’ first place finish. The Red Storm will host Portland and Marshwood on Friday.

2. Falmouth
Previous: 2
Last Meet: at Merriconeag
Place: 1st
Falmouth looked dominant at Merriconeag last Friday as they placed eight runners in the top ten overall. The Yachtsmen will head to Freeport this Friday.

3. Caribou

Previous: 4
Last Meet: Presque Isle Invitational
Place: 1st
Caribou had a fantastic day at the Presque Isle Invitational as they placed first behind Caleb Chapman’s third place finish. The Vikings will host Fort Kent and Presque Isle this Friday.

4. NYA
Previous: 5
Last Meet: Home vs. Greely, Poland
Place: 1st
NYA upset the Greely Rangers last Friday behind Cam Regan’s first place finish. NYA heads to Gray on Friday.

5. Greely
Previous: 3
Last Meet: at NYA
Place: 2nd
Greely placed second out of three teams at NYA last Friday. Look for them to bounce back when they head to Lake Region this Friday.

6. York
Previous: 6
Last Meet: at Fryeburg
Place: 1st
Mitch Finitz led York to a first place finish at Fryeburg last Friday as he placed second to Silas Eastman. They will face a tough challenge when they host Cape Elizabeth, Merriconeag, and Poland this Friday.

7. South Portland
Previous: 7
Last Meet: at Massabesic
Place: 2nd
South Portland placed second to number one ranked Scarborough last Friday behind John Wilkinson’s third place finish. The Red Riots will head to Gorham on Friday.

8. Bangor
Previous: 8
Last Meet: at Lawrence
Place: 1st
Bangor looked very impressive in their win at Lawrence last Friday as they placed five runners in the top ten overall. Bangor will face a tough challenge when they head to Hampden Academy on Friday.

9. Hampden Academy
Previous: 9
Last Meet: at Waterville
Place: 1st
Hampden Academy dominated in their victory at Waterville last Friday behind Andrew Closson’s first place finish. Hampden will face off against Bangor on their home course this Friday.

10. Ellsworth
Previous: UR
Last Meet: Presque Isle Invitational
Place: 2nd
Ellsworth had a very strong day at the Presque Isle Invitational as they placed second behind Dan Curts’ first place finish. Ellsworth heads to GSA on Friday.

INDIVIDUAL


1. Matt McClintock Madison
Previous: 2
Last Meet: at Carrabec
Place: 1st
Time: 15:38
McClintock takes the top spot after his dominating performance last week at Carrabec. He ran 16:54 on that a course a year ago so that shows you what kind of shape he is in. He will face off against Chase Brown this Wednesday when Madison heads to UMA.

2. Silas Eastman Fryeburg
Previous: 1
Last Meet: Home
Place: 1st
Time: 16:42
Eastman cruised to an easy victory on his home course running a time of 16:42. He will face off against Falmouth’s Tim Follo this Friday when Fryeburg heads to Freeport.

3. Harlow Ladd Messalonskee
Previous: 3
Last Meet: at Waterville
Place: Idle
Time: Idle
Ladd rested this week, but that shouldn’t affect his rankings after his performance last week at Mt. Blue. Look for him to cruise to an easy victory on his home course this Friday.

4. Chase Brown Boothbay
Previous: 4
Last Meet: Home
Place: 1st
Time: 17:09
Brown took home the victory on his home course running a solid time of 17:09. He will get his chance to face off against Matt McClintock of Madison this Wednesday.

5. Tim Follo Falmouth
Previous: 5
Last Meet: at Merriconeag
Place: 1st
Time: 17:08
Follo pulled out a victory over Jack Pierce of Merriconeag running a time of 17:08. He will have a huge test this Friday when he faces off against Silas Eastman.

6. Dan Curts Ellsworth
Previous: 6
Last Meet: Presque Isle Invitational
Place: 1st
Time: 17:15(3.17 M)
Curts dominated the field at the Presque Isle Invitational running a time of 17:15. Look for him to cruise to another victory when Ellsworth heads to GSA on Friday.

7. Nick Morris Scarborough
Previous: 7
Last Meet: at Massabesic
Place: 1st
Time: 17:19
Morris looked very impressive in his win at Massabesic last Friday. Look for him to continue his winning ways when Scarborough hosts Marshwood and Portland this Friday.

8. Andy Reifman-Packett Mt. Ararat
Previous: 8
Last Meet: at Edward Little
Place: 1st
Time: 17:52
Reifman-Packett notched another victory under his belt running a very solid time of 17:52. He will face a tough challenge when Mt. Ararat hosts Brunswick, Cony, and Morse this Friday.

9. Jon Stanhope Bangor

Previous: 10
Last Meet: at Lawrence
Place: 1st
Time: 17:19.66
Stanhope has been the most improved runner in the state this year as he took home another victory at Lawrence running a time of 17:19.66. He will face a tough challenge when Bangor heads to Hampden Academy on Friday.

10. Jack Pierce Merriconeag

Previous: 9
Last Meet: Home
Place: 2nd
Time: 17:12
Pierce pushed Falmouth’s Tim Follo to the edge last Friday with Follo eventually coming out on top. Pierce will face off against York’s Mitch Finitz and Cape Elizabeth’s Tom Bottomley when Merriconeag heads to York on Friday.
