Boys XC Power Rankings: Week 3
TEAM
1. Scarborough
Previous: 1
Last Meet: Home vs. Marshwood, Portland
Place: 1st
Scarborough cruised to an easy victory on their home course behind Nick Morris’ first place finish. The Red Storm head to Deering this Friday where they should go unchallenged.
2. Falmouth
Previous: 2
Last Meet: at Freeport
Place: 1st
The depth of this Falmouth team is absolutely ridiculous. Even without their number one runner, Tim Follo (who was out with a sickness), Falmouth managed to place eight runners in the top ten overall. Falmouth heads to Wells on Thursday where they should cruise to an easy victory.
3. Caribou
Previous: 3
Last Meet: Aroostook Invitational
Place: 1st
The Vikings dominated at the Aroostook Invitational as they placed five runners in the top eight overall. They will head to the Sectional Invitational this Saturday in Old Town.
4. NYA
Previous: 4
Last Meet: at GNG
Place: 1st
NYA won easily on the very challenging GNG course behind Cam Regan’s second place finish. NYA will face a tough challenge when they head to Cape Elizabeth on Friday.
5. Greely
Previous: 5
Last Meet: at NYA
Place: 2nd
The results from the Lake Region meet haven’t been posted yet, but that shouldn’t affect the Ranger’s ranking for the time being. Greely will head to the Manchester Invitational this Saturday.
6. York
Previous: 6
Last Meet: Home vs. Merriconeag, Poland
Place: 1st
York cruised to an easy victory on their home course behind Mitch Finitz’s second place finish. The Wildcats will face off against NYA and Cape Elizabeth this Friday.
7. South Portland
Previous: 7
Last Meet: at Gorham
Place: 1st
John Wilkinson led South Portland to an easy victory at Gorham behind his second place finish. South Portland will host Windham and Noble this Friday.
8. Bangor
Previous: 8
Last Meet: at Hampden Academy
Place: 1st
Bangor edged out ninth ranked Hampden Academy 34 to 38 last Friday behind Jon Stanhope’s first place finish. Bangor will head to MCI this Friday.
9. Hampden Academy
Previous: 9
Last Meet: Home vs. Bangor, Brewer
Place: 1st
Hampden Academy nearly pulled out a victory on their home course losing to Bangor last Friday. Hampden Academy will head to Cony on Friday.
10. John Bapst
Previous: UR
Last Meet: Home
Bapst looked very impressive on their home course as their top four runners placed 1-4. John Bapst will head to the Sectional Invitational at Old Town this Saturday.

Teams Knocking: Deering, Ellsworth, Cape Elizabeth, Wayneflete, Brunswick, Mt. Blue, Kennebunk, Mt. Ararat
INDIVIDUAL
1. Matt McClintock Madison
Previous: 1
Last Meet: at UMA
Place: 1st
Time: 16:17
McClintock defeated his Class C rival Chase Brown on the tough UMA course running a fantastic time of 16:17. McClintock has already clocked under 16 minutes for a 5k this year, so we will be expecting some very fast times from this kid as the season goes on.
2. Silas Eastman Fryeburg
Previous: 2
Last Meet: at Freeport
Place: 1st
Time: 16:36
Eastman’s time of 16:36 at Freeport was nearly a minute faster than the second place finisher. Expect Eastman to run a very fast time this week when Fryeburg heads to Cape Elizabeth.
3. Harlow Ladd Messalonskee
Previous: 3
Last Meet: at Messalonskee
Place: 1st
Time: 16:37
Ladd went unchallenged on his home course as he ran a season best time of 16:37. His time was over a minute faster than the second place finisher. Expect Ladd to take home another victory this Friday when Messalonskee heads to MCI
4. Chase Brown Boothbay
Previous: 4
Last Meet: at UMA
Place: 2nd
Time: 16:59
Brown ran a fantastic time of 16:59 on the very tough UMA course. This was Brown’s first test against McClintock this year. Expect Brown to try to close the gap between himself and McClintock as the season goes on.
5. Tim Follo Falmouth
Previous: 5
Last Meet: at Freeport
Place: Idle
Time: Idle
Follo had a sickness last Friday which prevented him from racing. Expect Follo to recover and run a fast time on the Wells course this Thursday.
6. Dan Curts Ellsworth
Previous: 6
Last Meet: Presque Isle Invitational
Place: 1st
Time: 17:15
Curst has been the best sophomore in the state thus far. Expect him to run a fast time this Saturday when Ellsworth heads to the Sectional Invitational in Old Town.
7. Nick Morris Scarborough
Previous: 7
Last Meet: Home vs. Portland, Marshwood
Place: 1st
Time: 17:00
Morris cruised to an easy victory on his home course running a fine time of 17:00. He will face two of the top runners in the SMAA in Cam Nadeau of Biddeford, and Bryant Perkins of Sanford this Friday when Scarborough heads to Sanford.
8. Andy Reifman-Packett Mt. Ararat
Previous: 8
Last Meet: Home vs. Morse, Brunswick, Cony
Place: 1st
Time: 17:34
Reifman-Packett took advantage of his home course as he cruised to an easy victory running a time of 17:34. He will face a tough challenge when Mt. Ararat heads to Brunswick this Thursday.
9. Jack Pierce Merriconeag
Previous: 9
Last Meet: at York
Place: 1st
Time: 15:09 (2.9 M)
Pierce used his home course to his advantage as he won comfortably running a fantastic time of 15:09 for 2.9 miles. Expect him to take home another victory when Merriconeag heads to Yarmouth this Friday.
10. Chris Dunn Kennebunk
Previous: UR
Last Meet: at Gorham
Place: 1st
Time: 16:40
Dunn had a fantastic race at Gorham as his time of 16:40 was nearly thirty seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Expect Dunn to run another fast time when Kennebunk heads to Massabesic on Friday.
