The Jack Kelly Award is given annually to the top male runner in the state
Silas Eastman Fryeburg
Eastman has been the most dominant
runner in Class B over the past two years, and expect this fall to be
no different. Eastman cruised to a victory at the Class B
championships running a time of 16:14 which was the second fastest
time of all classes. Eastman had a fantastic outdoor season as well
as he took home the 3200 title running an MDI facility record time of
9:26.36. He recently won the Lake Region Invitational in dominating
fashion running a record time of 14:44.
Dan Curts Ellsworth
Curts emerged as one of the top runners
in the state last fall as only a sophomore. He thrived on the big
stage as he placed 3rd in Class B running a time of 16:38.
Curts continued to emerge on the track as we saw him run 4:24 and
9:26. Look for Curts to challenge Eastman for the title in Class B
this fall.
Josef Holt Andrews Telstar
Holt Andrews had a stellar season last
year as the sophomore placed third at the state meet running a tome
of 16:55. At the New England Championships he placed 28th
just missing a spot on the All New England team. He got even better
on the track as we saw him run 4:26 and 9:42. He looks like the early
favorite to take the Class C title.
Jack Pierce Merriconeag
Pierce emerged as one of the top WMC
runners last fall as we saw him place fourth at the Class C
Championships running a time of 17:02. He placed 32nd at
the New England Championships. Pierce has already showed great
fitness this summer as he had high finishes at the Yarmouth Clam
Festival and the Mothers Day 5k in Portland.
Cameron Nadeau Biddeford
Nadeau is already off to a fast start
this year as he placed second at the SMAA relays running a time of
8:42. Nadeau placed fifth in Class A last year running a time of
17:05. Look for Nadeau to be the favorite to take the Class A title
this fall.
