Girls Individual Rankings Week 7



1. Kirstin Sandreuter Greely

Pre: 1 Meet: WMC Championships Place: DNR Time: DNR
Sandreuter hasn't raced since the Manchester Invitational due to injury. Hopefully she can come back at full strength this weekend at the Western B Regionals.

2. Shannon Conley South Portland

Pre: 2 Meet: Idle Place: Idle Time: Idle
Conley chose not to race last weekend in order to gear up for the Western A Regionals. Look for her to contend for the individual victory.






3. Aleta Looker Ellsworth

Pre: 7 Meet: PVC Championships Place: 1st Time: 19:28.85
Looker dominated the competition at the PVC Championships as she cruised to a fast time of 19:28.85. Expect Looker to contend for the win at the Eastern B Regionals on Saturday.

4. Anne McKee Kents Hill
Pre: 4 Meet: ? Place: ? Time: ?
Despite not competing regularly against some of the top runners like Sandreuter and Conley, McKee is still considered one of the top runners in the state. Look for her to continue to run fast times this season.

5. Mary Szatkowski Bonny Eagle
Pre: 5 Meet: at Marshwood Place: 1st Time: 21:35
Szatkowski ran an impressive time of 21:35 on one of the toughest courses in the state in Marshwood. Look for Szatkowski to challenge Conley for the win at the Western A Regionals on Saturday.

6. Kialeigh Marston Bonny Eagle
Pre: 3 Meet: at Marshwood Place: Idle Time: Idle
Marston didn't run at her meet at Marshwood, but expect her to challenge for the win at the Western A Regionals on Saturday.

7. Teresa Murphy Brunswick
Pre: 9 Meet: KVAC Championships Place: 1st Time: 20:40
Murphy edged Anne Guadalupi by three seconds at the KVAC Championships running a fast time of 20:40.4. Murphy is the slight favorite to win the Eastern A Regional title on Saturday.

8. Kiera Murray Cheverus
Pre: 6 Meet: at Cheverus Place: 1st Time: 22:12
Murray won on her home course as she cruised to a time of 22:12. Look for Murray to challenge for a top three finish at the Western A Regional this Saturday.

9. Anne Guadalupi Cony
Pre: 8 Meet: KVAC Championships Place: 2nd Time: 20:43
Guadalupi placed second to Teresa Murphy as she ran a great time of 20:43. Look for Guadalupi to challenge for the individual victory at the Eastern A Regional on Saturday.

10. Heather Evans York
Pre: UR Meet: WMC Championships Place: 1st Time: 20:21
Evans won the WMC Championships running an impressive time of 20:21. Look for Evans to challenge for the win at the Western B Regionals on Saturday.

Girls Individual Rankings Week 6



1. Kirstin Sandreuter Greely

Pre: 1 meet: Home Place: Idle Time: Idle
Sandreuter didn't race on her home course last Friday. She's the heavy favorite to win the WMC Championship this Friday.

2. Shannon Conley South Portland

Pre: 2 Meet: at Scarborough Place: 1st Time: 19:19.26
Conley dominated at Scarborough as she placed first running a time of 19:19.26. Her time was nearly a minute faster than the runner up. South Portland heads to Westbrook on Friday where Conley should win again.

3. Kialeigh Marston Bonny Eagle


Pre: 2 Meet: Home Place: Idle Time: Idle
Marston didn't compete on her home course last Friday. Look for her to contend for the win when Bonny Eagle heads to Windham on Friday.

4. Anne McKee Kents Hill
Pre: 4 Meet: at Kents Hill Place: 1st Time: 20:21
McKee cruised to an easy victory on her home course as her time of 20:21 was over four minutes ahead of the runner up finisher.

5. Mary Szatkowski Bonny Eagle
Pre: 6 Meet: Home Place: 1st Time: 18:35
Szatkowski established a new course record on her home course as she cruised to a fast time of 18:35. Look for her to contend for the win when Bonny Eagle heads to Windham.

6. Kiera Murray Cheverus
Pre: UR Meet: at Gorham Place: 1st Time: 18:28
Murray won easily at Gorham as she ran a fast time of 18:28. Look for her to win on her home course on Friday.

7. Aleta Looker Ellsworth
Pre: 5 Meet: Idle Place: Idle Time: Idle
Looker didn't compete at the Hancock County Championships last Friday. Expect her to come back in a big way at the PVC Championships on Saturday.

8. Anne Guadalupi Cony
Pre: 9 Meet: Mt. Blue Relays Place: 1st Time: 13:18
Guadalupi took home the victory at the Mt. Blue Relays as she cruised to a fast time of 13:18. Look for Guadalupi to contend for the win at the KVAC Championships this Saturday.

9. Teresa Murphy Brunswick
Pre: UR meet: Camden Hills Invitational Place: 1st Time: 20:07.53
Murphy was victorious at the Camden Hills Invite as she ran a fast time of 20:07.53. Expect Murphy to contend for the win at the KVAC Championships.

10. Carsyn Koch Washburn
Pre: 8 Meet: Idle Place: Idle Time: Idle
Koch didn't compete this week. Look for her to contend for the win at the PVC Championships this Saturday.

Girls Individual Rankings Week 5



1. Kirstin Sandreuter Greely

Pre: 1 Meet: N/A Place: N/A Time: N/A
Greely was off this week which meant Kirstin Sandreuter had to sit back and watch while FOC unfolded. Expect her to come back in a big way this week on her home course.

2. Kialeigh Marston Bonny Eagle

Pre: UR Meet: FOC Place: 1st Time: 18:42.94
I've made the mistake of overlooking  Kialeigh Marston this season, and it showed how wrong I was when she won the Festival of Champions on Saturday running a time of 18:42. She's had a spectacular season and is a legitimate threat to win the Class A championship.

3. Shannon Conley South Portland

Pre: 3 Meet: FOC Place: 2nd Time: 18:59.21
Conley had a great race on Saturday as she placed second to Marston breaking the elusive 19 minute barrier in 18 minutes, 59.21 seconds. Look for Conley to run a fast time at Scarborough this Friday.

4. Anne McKee Kents Hill
Pre: 4 Meet: FOC Place: 3rd Time: 18:59.40
McKee had a spectacular race at FOC placing third running a time of 18:59.40. Time will tell when she races again, but for now she's shown the ability to run with the top runners in Maine.

5. Aleta Looker Ellsworth
Pre: 2 Meet: FOC Place: 4th Time: 19:01.13
Looker was the top Class B finisher on Saturday as she placed fourth running a time of 19:01.13. Expect Looker to challenge for the win at the Hancock County Championships on Friday.

6. Mary Szatkowski Bonny Eagle
Pre: 5 Meet: FOC Place: N/A Time: N/A
Szatkowski had to miss the Festival of Champions due to taking the SATs. Look for Szatkowski to challenge her teammate Kialeigh Marston on her home course this Friday.

7. Maggie Painter MDI
Pre: UR Meet: FOC Place: 5th Time: 19:05.74
Painter showed her true grit as she placed fifth at FOC running a great time of 19:05.74. Look for her to challenge Aleta Looker at the Hancock County Championships this Friday.

8. Carsyn Koch Washburn
Pre: 9 Meet: FOC Place: 6th Time: 19:15.15
Koch was the top Class C finisher on Saturday as she placed sixth overall running a time of 19:15.15. Look for her to contend for the win at the Hancock County Championships this Friday.

9. Anne Guadalupi Cony
Pre: 6 Meet: FOC Place: 8th Time: 19:21.39
Guadalupi was very impressive in the freshmen race as her 19:21 solo effort was good enough for the 8th fastest time on Saturday. Look for Guadalupi to challenge for the win at the Mt. Blue Relays on Friday.

10. Casey Loring South Portland
Pre: UR Meet: FOC Place: 7th Time: 19:15.80
Loring placed seventh at FOC running a great time of 19:15.80. Look for Loring to run a fast time at Scarborough on Friday.

Girls Individual Rankings Week 4



1. Kirstin Sandreuter Greely


Pre: 1 Meet: Manchester Invitational Place: 1st Time: 18:59
Sandreuter avenged last year's loss to Aleta Looker by pulling out a fourteen second victory in the small schools race. Greely heads to Freeport on Friday where she should go unchallenged.

2. Aleta Looker Ellsworth

Pre: 2 Meet: Manchester Invitational Place: 3rd Time: 19:23
Looker had a very strong race at the Manchester Invitational placing third running a time of 19:23. Looker will be one of the many favorites to win at the Festival of Champions this Saturday.

3. Shannon Conley South Portland
Pre: 3 Meet: at Sanford Place: ? Time: ?
Results from the meet at Sanford have yet to come out, but Conley still deserves to be in the discussion as the top runner in the state. She is also a threat to win the Festival of Champions on Saturday.

4. Anne McKee Kents Hill
Pre: UR Meet: Manchester Invitational Place: 4th Time: 19:31
McKee proved on Saturday that she belongs in the discussion as one of the top runners in the state after her 19:31 performance. Look for her to mix it up with the top girls this Saturday at FOC.

5. Mary Szatkowski Bonny Eagle
Pre: 5 Meet: at Noble Place: 1st Time: 19:17
Szatkowski pulled out a four second victory over teammate Kialeigh Marston running a time of 19:17. Look for Szatkowski to contend for a top spot at FOC.

6. Anne Guadalupi Cony
Pre: 10 Meet: at Cony Place: 1st Time: 20:51
Guadalupi used her home course to her advantage as she outdistanced herself from Emma Trapani of Camden Hills to run a time of 20:51. She's the early favorite to win the freshmen race at FOC.

7. Kiera Murray Cheverus
Pre: 6 Meet: at Noble Place: 3rd Time: 19:21
Murray placed third at Noble last Friday running a fast time of 19:21. Look for Murray to contend for a top five finish at FOC on Saturday.

8. Emma Trapani Camden Hills
Pre: 4 Meet: at Cony Place: 2nd Time: 21:21
Trapani placed second to Anne Guadalupi of Cony on Friday as she ran a solid time of 21:21. These two will face off once again in the freshmen race at FOC on Saturday.

9. Carsyn Koch Washburn
Pre: 9 Meet: Sectional Invitational Place: 1st Time: 19:55
Koch was very impressive in her win at the Sectional Invitational as she cruised to course record time of 19:55. Look for Koch to contend for a top five finish at FOC on Saturday.

10. Angel Waters Massabesic
Pre: 10 Meet: Manchester Invitational Place: 14th Time: 20:16
Waters had a very impressive race in the large school 5k as she placed fourteenth running a time of 20:16. Look for her to contend for a top ten finish at FOC on Saturday.

The Erin Hannon Award


The Erin Award is given annually to the best freshmen girl in the state

Tessa Cassidy Brunswick
 

Tessa Cassidy had an outstanding freshmen campaign as we saw her mix it up with the top girls in Class A. She showed her true form at the Festival of Champions placing second in the freshmen race running a time of 19:54.40. Her time was the 18th fastest of the day. Her finest race of the season came at Eastern Regional Championships where she placed second to Erzsebet Nagy running a time of 20:36.31. She followed up her performance with a ninth place showing at the state meet running a time of 19:40.51. Cassidy placed 84th at the New England Championships on Saturday running a time of 20:53.56. Look for Cassidy to only improve from here, and challenge for the Class A title next fall.
