Girls XC Individual Rankings: 2. Erzsebet Nagy Lawrence
SB: 18:28.88
Place at Regionals: 1st 18:51.25 Class A East
Place at States: 2nd 18:59.82 Class A
Erzsebet Nagy became the biggest surprise last fall as we saw her make the jump from soccer to cross country. We are sure glad she made that decision. Nagy burst onto the scene quickly as she won the Laliberte Invitational early in the season running a time of 15:30.02 (2.4 mile course). As if Laliberte wasn't enough, Nagy proved once again that she belongs in elite company as she came in second at the Festival of Champions running a time 19:02.42. She continued to roll as the postseason came along. Nagy took home the Eastern A Regional title running a spectacular time of 18:51.25. The following week at the State meet, Nagy placed second to Abbey Leonardi running another great time of 18:59.82. Nagy then opted not to run at the New England Championships. She looks like the odds on favorite to claim her first state title next fall and make a run at a top five finish at the New England Championships.
