Harlow Ladd is the clear favorite in the 1600 and the 3200, but the future Purdue Boilermaker will have his hands full with the quality depth that Class A brings.
1600
The 1600 meter run this Saturday might
be the most compelling event of the day being that there are six
runners who have run under 4:30 this spring. Harlow Ladd of
Messalonskee seems to be the clear cut favorite. He has had a
fantastic spring season and will look to put it all together this
Saturday. Ladd won the 1600 at the KVAC Championships running a time
of 4:25.71. The battle for second place will be up for grabs. Look
for runners such as Jesse Orach of Gorham, Andy Reifman-Packett of
Mt. Ararat, Wout Moulin of Scarborough, and Mohamed Barre of Lewiston
to contend for top finishes. All of these runners have broken 4:30
this spring and are all capable of having huge races.
Prediction
- Harlow Ladd Messalonskee
- Jesse Orach Gorham
- Wout Moulin Scarborough
- Andy Reifman-Packett Mt. Ararat
- Mohamed Barre Lewiston
800
The 800 on Saturday is expected to be
one of the premiere events this Saturday. Mitch Black of Brunswick
will be the clear favorite going into Saturday. Black won the 800 at
the KVAC Championships in dominating fashion running a time of
1:58.18. Don't count out Brady Foshay of Cheverus. He has had a
breakout year this spring and seems to be improving every time he
steps on the track. Foshay won the 800 at Southwesterns last week
running a time of 1:58.98. Look for him to challenge Black for the
win on Saturday. Expect other runners such as Jamie Ross of
Brunswick, David Correale of Bangor, and Mike Tudor of Scarborough to
challenge for a top finish as well.
Prediction
- Mitch Black Brunswick
- Brady Foshay Cheverus
- David Correale Bangor
- Jamie Ross Brunswick
- Mike Tudor Scarborough
3200
The 3200 is another event that has a
great amount of depth with six runners having all run under 10
minutes. Ladd, yet again, will be the favorite to take the title. He
easily took home the 3200 title at the KVAC Championships running a
time of 9:43.40. The 3200 is his premiere event so expect him to run
a very fast time. The race for second place will yet again be up for
grabs. Lucas Bourget of Edward Little, Jesse Orach of Gorham, Chris
Dunn of Kennebunk, Wout Moulin of Scarborough, and Bryant Perkins of
Sanford have all broken the 10 minute barrier this spring. Also watch
for Andy Reifman-Packett of Mt. Ararat. He has flown under the radar
this spring, but he thrives in big meets and will look to make a
splash on Saturday.
Prediction
- Harlow Ladd Messalonskee
- Jesse Orach Gorham
- Chris Dunn Kennebunk
- Andy Reifman-Packett Mt. Ararat
- Wout Moulin Scarborough
