Class C Girls Distance Preview: One Last Go-Around For Mace

Abby Mace, one of the most successful Class C runners over the past decade, has had a phenomenal year thus far. The future UConn Huskie will look to do some major damage this Saturday at Cony High School.

Sophomore Carsyn Koch of Washburn looks like the clear cut favorite in the 800. She is the defending champion in this event. Koch has had a fantastic spring thus far. At the Aroostook County Championships Koch won both the 1600 and the 800 running 5:27.3 and 2:31.3 respectively. She has the fastest time in Class C with a time of 2:22.24. The battle for second place will be a cause for intrigue. Freshman Fern Morrison of Foxcroft comes into the meet with the second fastest time with a time of 2:26.97. Morrison has had a great freshmen campaign this spring. She will look to push Koch to the edge this Saturday.
