The Big Three Award (Female)
Previous Winners
2012: MDI- Maggie Painter, Olivia Erickson, Waylon Henggeler
2011: Cheverus- Emily Durgin, Fiona Hendry, Shannon Conley
MDI- Isabel Erickson, Olivia Erickson, Waylon Henggeler (Lydia Dacorte, Caroline Driscoll)
This team was so ridiculously deep year that it was hard to cut it down to the top three, but no matter the outcome MDI usually had the lowest scoring trio in every meet this year. Remember, they lost front runner Maggie Painter in the post season and still put up dominating performances at Regional's and states. MDI steamrolled the competition throughout the season with wins including the Festival of Champions where they placed five runners in the top 36 overall. At the state meet, they were led Isabel Erickson's third place finish with Waylong Henggeler right behind her in fourth place. Freshmen Lydia Dacorte was their third runner that day as she placed sixth overall. With four of their top five coming back next fall, look for MDI to pursue its fourth straight Class B title.

The Big Three Award (Female)

And the winner is......
Cheverus- Emily Durgin, Fiona Hendry, Shannon Conley
Emily Durgin, Fiona Hendry, and Shannon Conley not only formed the most dominant trio in the state, they were also one of the best in New England. Durgin had a fantastic senior campaign as he saw her battle through low iron, and place third at both the state meet and the New England Championships. Durgin has a great chance to go back to San Diego this year as she now looks healthy and better than ever. Fiona Hendry and Shannon Conley switched off being the number two runner early in the season, until Hendry started to take off once the post season started. Durgin and Hendry are both Seniors so it was only fitting for them to go out with a state championship and All New England status. For Shannon Conley, she will lead a very young Cheverus team with enough talent to perhaps win their fourth straight Class A championship.
MDI- Nora Hubbell, Olivia Erickson, Maggie Painter
Massabesic- Gabrielle Johnson, Mikayla Frazier, Jocelyn Acheson
Mt. Ararat- Kelly Lynch, Lauren McNett, Emma Wood
