Week 2 Power Rankings: Boys Individuals


1.       Silas Eastman Fryeburg


Last Week: 1
Meet: Home vs. Yarmouth and Saccopee
Place: 1st
Time: 16:02
Eastman cruised to a win in dominating fashion on his home course on Friday. His time of 16:02 was 1:41 ahead of Braden Becker of Yarmouth. Look for him to coast to another victory on Saturday when he heads to Freeport.




2.       Dan Curts Ellsworth

Last Week: 2
Meet: Caribou Invitational
Place: 1st
Time: 15:48
Curts put on a show at the Caribou Invitational as he cruised to an easy victory running a time of 15:48. His time was nearly 90 seconds faster than the runner up. Expect Curts to win handily when Ellsworth heads to Presque Isle.










3.       Jack Pierce Merriconeag


Last Week: 3
Meet: at GNG
Place: 1st
Time: 17:29
Pierce ran to an easy victory running 17:29 on arguably the toughest course in the state in GNG. He’s off to a blazing start this year as he clocked 16:20 for the 5k last week. Look for Pierce to take home another victory at York this weekend.

4.       Josef Holt Andrews Telstar
Last Week: 3
Meet: at Telstar
Time: 17:01
Holt Andrews easily won on his home course running a time of 17:01. To put that into perspective, last year on the same day he ran 19:36 compared to Matt McClintock’s 17:32 that day. He appears ready to have a fantastic season.

5.       Will Shafer GNG
Last Week: 5
Meet: at GNG
Place: 2nd
Time: 17:47
Shafer took second place at his home course on Friday running a great time of 17:47. Like I said earlier, GNG is one of the toughest courses in the state. Look for him to go unchallenged when he and his teammates head to Yarmouth this Friday.

6.       Mohamed Awil Lewiston
Last Week: UR
Meet: at Lewiston
Place: 1st
Time: 16:30.48
Awil proved he belongs in the discussion in Class A as he took home the victory on his home course (16:30.48) dispatching Jonathan Stanhope. Look for Awil to notch another win under his belt when Lewiston heads to Messalonskee on Friday.

7.       Jonathan Stanhope Bangor
Last Week: 6
Meet: at Lewiston
Place: 3rd
Time: 16:46.01
Stanhope placed third at Lewiston covering the 3 mile course in 16:46.01. Look for Stanhope to continue his winning ways when Bangor heads to Hampden Academy on Friday.

8.       Cam Nadeau Biddeford
Last Week: 8
Meet: at McCauley
Place: 1st
Time: 17:40
Nadeau cruised to a convincing victory at McCauley as he clocked in a fine time of 17:40. Look for Nadeau to win once again when Biddeford heads to Westbrook on Friday.

9.       Sam Wood Mt. Ararat
Last Week: UR
Meet: Waterville
Place: 1st
Time: 17:33
Wood dispatched the field at Waterville running a time of 17:33. His time was 18 seconds ahead of runner up finisher Chris Cote of Waterville. Look for Wood to continue his winning ways when Mt. Ararat hosts a five team meet this Friday.

10.   Nate Madiera Greely
Last Week: UR
Meet: Home
Place: 1st
Time: 17:29
Madiera had a great race as he covered his tough home course in 17:29. Look for him to only get better as the season winds down. Look for Madiera to take home another victory when Greely heads to Wells on Friday.

Runners Knocking on the Door: Mohamed Barre Lewiston, Ben Trapani Camden Hills, Nathan Mackenzie Mt. Ararat, Ben Allen Yarmouth, Mohamed Mohamed Lewiston, Justin Tracy Mt. Blue, Sully Jackson Mt. Blue, Liam Simpson Cape, Peter Doane Cape
