Week 2 Power Rankings: Girls Teams

1.       MDI

Meet: Caribou Invitational

Place: 1^st

MDI cruised to a victory at the Caribou Invitational as they placed four runners in the top ten. Leading the way for them was Maggie Painter who placed second running a time of 19:47.60. MDI heads to Orono on Friday where they should go unchallenged.

 

2.       Massabesic

Last Week: 2

Meet: at Scarborough

Place: 1^st

Jocelyn Acheson’s second place finish propelled Massabesic to the win at Scarborough on Friday. They also got strong runs from Gabrielle Johnson and Emily Wassina who both placed in the top six. Massabesic heads to Thornton Academy on Friday.

 

3.       Bonny Eagle

Last Week: 5

Meet: Home vs Noble, Portland, TA

Place: 1^st

Bonny Eagle dominated on their home course as they put five runners in the top ten. Mary Szatkowski led the way for them as she placed second running a time of 19:54. Bonny Eagle heads to Sanford on Friday.

 

4.       Camden Hills

Last Week: 3

Meet: at Belfast

Place: 1^st

Camden Hills put on a dominating performance at Belfast as they cruised to a perfect score behind Brittany Bowman’s first place finish. They did all of this even without their number two runner Willow Parker. The Windjammers race at Medomak Valley on Friday.

 

5.       Greely

Last Week: 4

Meet: Home vs. NYA, York, Poland

Place: 1st

The Rangers took advantage of their home course as they cruised to an easy win over NYA, York and Poland. Eva Bates led the charge for them as she took home the victory running a time of 20:30. Greely races at Wells on Friday.

 

6.       Cheverus

Last Week: 5

Meet: at Gorham

Place: 1^st

Cheverus went unchallenged at Gorham as they were paced by Kiera Murray who took home the victory running 19:50. The Stags were also racing without Shannon Conley. They head to Westbrook on Friday.

 

7.       Caribou

Last Week: 9

Meet: Caribou Invitational

Place: 2^nd

Caribou placed second at the Caribou Invitational behind Mackenzie Belyea’s third place finish (20:06.23). They also got strong runs from Robyn and Nerissa Larrabee as they both placed in the top ten. Caribou heads to Presque Isle on Friday.

 

8.       Brunswick

Last Week: 8

Meet: at Lawrence

Place: 2^nd

The Dragons placed second out of eight teams at Lawrence as they were led by Tiffany Tanner’s second place finish. They were racing without their top runner Teresa Murphy. Brunswick heads to Mt. Ararat on Friday.

 

9.       Mt. Ararat

Last Week: 7

Meet: at Waterville

Place: 3^rd

Mt. Ararat placed third at Waterville behind Kelly Lynch’s third place finish. Olivia Swan had a strong race as well as she placed fifth overall. Mt. Ararat is host to a five team meet on Friday.

 

10.   Maranacook

Last Week: UR

Meet: at Lawrence

Place: 1^st

Maranacook took home its first victory of the season at Belfast as they were led by Caroline Colan. She placed first running a time of 20:51.24. Maranacook heads to Leavitt on Friday.
