Week 4 Power Rankings: Boys Teams



1.      Falmouth

Last Week: 2

Meet: Home

Place: 1st

The Yachtsmen cruised to another easy victory on their home course last Friday as Bryce Murdick led the way capturing the victory in 17:19. Falmouth had five runners run under 18:00 which is very impressive given the tough Community Park course. They look like the early favorite at the Festival of Champions.

2.      Scarborough

Last Week: 1

Meet: Home

Place: 1st

Like the Yachtsmen, Scarborough cruised on their home course with five runners breaking the 18 minute barrier. Smiling Hill Farms is one of the tougher courses in the state. Robby hall led the way for the Red Storm as he placed second overall. Look for them to contend for the win at the Festival of Champions.

3.      Lewiston

Last Week: 3

Meet: at Oxford Hills

Place: 1st

Lewiston had a nice tune up before FOC as they cruised to an easy victory at Oxford Hills. They placed seven runners in the top ten overall. Expect Lewiston to contend for the win at the Festival of Champions.

4.      Ellsworth

Last Week: 4

Meet: Manchester Invitational

Place: 4th (Small School)

Ellsworth was the top Maine team in the Small School race as they were led by Dan Curts who won running a ridiculous time of 15:42. Expect Ellsworth to contend for a top finish at FOC.

5.      Cape Elizabeth

Last Week: 5

Meet: at GNG

Place: 1st

Cape Elizabeth dominated the field at GNG as their duo of Peter Doane and Liam Simpson took the top two spots respectively. Look for Cape to contend for a top five finish at FOC.

6.      Bangor

Last Week: 6

Meet: at MCI

Place: 1st

Bangor looked dominant in their win at MCI as they were led by Jonathan Stanhope who took home the victory running a time of 18:11. Look for Bangor to contend for a top five finish at FOC.

7.      Massabesic

Last Week: UR

Meet: Manchester Invitational

Place: 4th Large School Race

Masssabesic certainly looked like one of the top teams in the state as they were led by Cody Vachon who ran a lifetime best of 16:54. He placed 11th overall. Look for Massabesic to contend for a top five finish at FOC.

8.      Mt. Blue

Last Week: 9

Meet: at Brunswick

Place: 1st

Mt. Blue survived a strong run from Mt. Ararat as they took home the victory at Brunswick. Justin Tracy led the way for them as he won running a great time of 16:49.67. Look for Mt. Blue to contend for a top five finish at FOC.

9.      Mt. Ararat

Last Week: 10

Meet: at Brunswick

Place: 2nd

Mt. Ararat placed second at Brunswick as they were led by Sam Wood who placed second overall running a time of 16:51.82. Look for Mt. Ararat to contend for a top five finish at FOC.

10.  Fryeburg

Last Week: UR

Meet: Manchester Invitational

Place: 6th Small School Race

Fryeburg placed sixth in the Small School race as they were led by Silas Eastman’s runner up finish. Fryeburg heads to Lake Region on Friday.

 

Team of the Week: Ellsworth

 

Teams Knocking on the Door: York, Freeport, Cheverus, Hampden, Brunswick
