1.      Lewiston

Lewiston got a huge run by Isaiah Harris who ran a lifetime best of 16:53. With their dominant trio and Harris emerging, this team could be scary good by the post season.

2.      Falmouth

Last Week: 1

Meet: FOC

Place: 3rd

Bryce Murdick led the charge for the Yachtsmen as they placed third at FOC. They were only ten points out of first place which goes to show you how close the meet was. Falmouth heads to Greely on Friday.

3.      Scarborough

Last Week: 2

Meet: FOC

Place: 5^th

The Red Storm placed fifth at FOC behind a great race from Robby Hall who placed ninth running a time of 16:38.06. Look for them to win handily on their home course this Friday.

4.      Cape Elizabeth

Last Week: 5

Meet: FOC

Place: 4th

The duo of Simpson and Doane paid huge dividends on Saturday as they both placed in the top fifteen. Cape also got big runs from Kyle Kennedy and Will Britton. They will get another chance at Falmouth this Friday.

5.       Ellsworth

Last Week: 4

Meet: FOC

Place: 15th

Ellsworth was without Dan Curts who opted not to run due to illness. The rams were paced by Robert Looker who placed 11th. Look for Ellsworth to continue to be dominant in eastern Maine.

6.      Massabesic  

Last Week: 7

Meet: FOC

Place: 7th

Massabesic got a huge run from George Morrison who placed 37^th overall as they placed fifth at FOC. Look for Massabesic to cruise at Westbrook on Friday.

7.      Bangor

Last Week: 6

Meet: FOC

Place: 8^th

Bangor placed 8^th at FOC behind Jonathan Stanhope’s fifth place finish. Bangor should one of the favorites to come out on top at the Mt. Blue Relays on Friday.

8.      Mt. Ararat

Last Week: 9

Meet: at Morse

Place: 1st

Mt. Ararat looked dominant in their dual meet with Brunswick as Sam Wood and Nathan Mackenzie placed first and second respectively. Look for Mt. Ararat to contend for the win at the Mt. Blue Relays on Friday.

9.      Mt. Blue

Last Week: 8

Meet: FOC

Place: 10th

Mt. Blue placed tenth at FOC as Josh Horne had his breakout race of the season running a time of 16:47.97. Just ahead of him was teammate Justin Tracy who placed 14^th. Look for Mt. Blue to contend for the win on their home course this Friday.

10. York

Last Week: UR

Meet: FOC

Place: 11th

York placed 11^th at FOC as they were led by Nick Eaton who placed 50^th overall. York heads to Traip on Thursday where they should dominate.

Week 5 Power Rankings: Girls Teams

1.      MDI

Place: 1^st

MDI overcame strong challenges from Bonny Eagle and Camden Hills to take the title at the Festival of Champions. Maggie Painter led the way for them as she placed 8th running a time of 19:19.05. Expect them to cruise at the Hancock County Championships this Friday.

2.      Bonny Eagle

Place: 2^nd

Bonny Eagle placed second at Festival of Champions behind their dynamic duo of Samantha Cox and Mary Szatkowski as the placed fourth and seventh respectively. Look for them to win easily when they head to Biddeford on Friday.

3.      Camden Hills

Last Week: 2

Meet: FOC

Place: 3^rd

The Windjammers were only six points away from being runner up as they were lead by Brittany Bowman who placed fifth running a time of 19:03.83. Look for Camden to win on their home course this week at their hometown Invitational.

4.      Cheverus

Place: 4^th

The Stags placed fourth at FOC behind their strong duo of Kiera Murray and Shannon Conley as they placed 11th and 17th respectively. Look for Cheverus to win easily at Scarborough on Friday.

5.      Massabesic

Place: 6^th

Massabesic placed sixth at FOC with Jocelyn Acheson leading the way as she placed tenth running a time of 19:27.68. Look for Massabesic to win handily at Westbrook this week.

6.      Greely

The Rangers were off this week, but that shouldn't affect their ranking for the time being.Greely will face off against top foes Falmouth and Yarmouth on their home course this Friday.

Waterville surprised some people with their fifth place showing at FOC. Bethanie Brown led the charge for them as she placed first and set the meet record. Look for Waterville to contend for the win at the Mt. Blue Relays this Friday.

8.      Falmouth

Place: 8^th

The Yachtsmen placed 8th at FOC as they were led by Madeline Roberts who placed 27th overall running a time of 20:11.63. Look for Falmouth to challenge rivals Greely and Yarmouth at Twinbrook's this Friday.

Mt. Ararat placed first in a three team meet at Morse as they were led by Kelly Lynch who covered the 2 mile course in 12:29.13. Look for them to contend for the win at the Mt. Blue Relays this Friday.

Yarmouth placed ninth at FOC as they were led by Sarah Becker who placed 37th running a time of 20:31.22. Look for Yarmouth to challenge Falmouth and Greely at Twinbrook's this Friday.

Curts proved on Saturday he is one of the best runners in New England. He outkicked Silas Eastman to take home the victory in the Small School race running a time of 15:42. Curts will be the favorite to win the Festival of Champions on Saturday, and perhaps make a run at Will Geoghegan’s course record.

Don’t expect the loss to Curts to faze Eastman. He’s one of the finest runners the WMC has seen since Ben True. Look for him to dominate at Lake Region on Friday.

Pierce ran a great race on Saturday as we saw him place fourth running a lifetime best of 16:09. Look for Pierce to contend for a top three finish at FOC.

Nagy looks to be in top form as she dominated the field at MCI running a time of 20:02.91. Her time was over two minutes ahead of the runner up. Look for Nagy to try and chase down Bethanie Brown at the Festival of Champions.

Time: 19:17 Small School Race

What Looker has done the past couple of weeks has been absolutely spectacular. Her performance at the Manchester Invitational proved that she belongs with the top runners in New England. Look for her to contend for the runner up at FOC.

Bowman continues to perform at an elite level as she placed second to Bethanie Brown at Cony running a time of 20:21.59. Look for her to contend for the runner up at FOC.

Pierce set the course record at Marshwood running a great time of 21:16. She was nearly 90 seconds ahead of the runner up. Look for her to contend for the runner up at FOC.
